Wyatt's been through so many milestones lately - crawling, teeth, sleep... well i don't dare say we're sleeping better, because i know better than to speak that aloud. so please, don't ask.
but more important than his sleep is just how simply happy Wyatt is. when he sees me in the morning, or sees dad come home from work, or sees us peep up from behind a scarf, his face lights up with such pure joy. he's also gotten super snuggly and giggles when you kiss him on the neck (which i think is a pretty amazing developmental achievement). at playgroup he observes the insanity around him and then gives whatever babe is near a sweet smile and poke. the other moms often ask me if he's ever unhappy (come see us at bedtime...) and every night when we put him to bed, gregg and i compare notes on just how cute he was that day. (i wish we had a better word for cute, because we're on the proverbial cute overload over here.) if Wyatt only knew how obsessed we are with him... or maybe he does know and that's why he's so darn happy.
i don't know if this video is related, except that it falls under the banner of "We think Wyatt is cute". watching it, one might think this is his first time seeing these toys. he's seen them 80 zillion times and they still make him so happy.
we could learn a lot from an almost 9 month old..

the constant tongue-flicking is the best!! super cute...and it really is the best word (doesn't do any of them justice, but it works)!
first off- abel is wearing HIS star wars shirt today. they must have called each other and planned it. second, and WAY more important- I LOVE his noises, and how vacillates between really thoughtfully looking at toys, and then sort of spazzes for a minute, and then back to thoughtful again.
